Public Service Commission to Investigate Qualifications
of Mpumalanga Government Employees

Pretoria: On Monday, 3 April 2000 the Public Service
Commission (PSC) will begin an investigation into the
qualifications of government employees in Mpumalanga. The
investigation has been requested by the Premier of
Mpumalanga, Mr Ndaweni Mahlangu. Ms Odette Ramsingh, the
Deputy Director-General in the Office of the Public Service
Commission, will lead the investigation.
The investigation will scrutinise the qualifications of
employees from the rank of Assistant Director to the
Director General. The investigation will be conducted in two
phases. The first phase will focus on Directors up to Heads
of Departments. The Second phase will focus on training of
managers in the province to enable them to scrutinise the
qualifications of Assistant Directors and Deputy Directors.
The first phase will be completed by 19 May 2000.
