National Anti-Corruption Forum Civil Society Indaba
01 June 2011
A Civil Society Indaba against corruption will be held as
follows:
Date |
Venue |
23-24 June 2011 |
Cape Town Society for the
Blind, 45 Salt River Road, Cape Town |
The Indaba will aim to address the challenges that are
encountered by the Civil Society sector in effectively
coordinating its activities within the NACF. The
appreciation of the importance of this Indaba by the
other two sectors (Public Service and Business) within
NACF is a reflection that South Africa has succeeded in
creating an enabling environment where a
multi-stakeholder coalition against corruption must
exist and co-exist; and this is an achievement that must
serve as a benchmark for other countries in the world
that are geared-up to root out corruption and all its
elements.
The Indaba will focus on the following issues:
o Finding a common position in the fight against
corruption by the Civil Society Sector in South Africa;
and
o Establishing a consolidated position for the Civil
Society Sector within the NACF.
