Commemoration of the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day

The Public Service Commission (PSC) in partnership with the United Nations in South Africa and the University of South Africa cordially invites members of the media to the commemoration of the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day on 09 December 2022. The event which will be held under the theme: "The Cost of Failure of Governance and Ethics in the Public Service: A collective response to tackle the scourge of corruption in the Public Sector", aims to provide an opportunity for governments, political leaders, business, civil society, academia, the public and youth to join forces against corruption.

The International Anti-Corruption Day is commemorated annually on 09 December in recognition of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which was signed in Mexico in 2003. South Africa is one of the signatories to the Convention and ratified it in 2004.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver a keynote address. Other participants at the event will include amongst others, the Premier of Gauteng, Honourable Panyaza Lesufi, PSC Chairperson, Prof Somadoda Fikeni, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Judge Raymond Zondo and the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Dr Ayodele Odusola.
