The areas of collaboration include amongst others:
- Promotion of thought leadership;

- Production of relevant publications;
- Capacity building;
- Community engagement initiatives; and
- Skills development including internships and Work Integrated Learning.
The Chairperson of the PSC remarked that the PSC is "an important and innovative champion of public administration excellence in South Africa".
Professor Fikeni went further to talk passionately about how the PSC has made a significant contribution on debates and policy decisions on topical
issues such as professionalisation of the Public Service, amongst others, and therefore, "the signing of the MoU is a significant moment for the PSC
and it augurs well for our repositioning. Of importance is that the MoU will allow the Commission, as a knowledge-based organisation, to collaborate
with the University on areas of mutual interest", said Professor Fikeni.
The Vice Chancellor of the North-West University, Professor Bismark Tyobeka said: "Universities are a microcosm of society, and we are dedicated to
collaborating with all spheres of government to work towards building a capable state, as outlined in the National Development Plan. Through various
initiatives and programmes, we are already working towards addressing challenges faced by government and its departments. We eagerly anticipate the
continuation of this important work, confident that it will contribute to the improvement of society."
